BLOGGER IN THE SPOTLIGHT: WHITNEY FROM WITHLOVEWIT

Meet Whitney! She's the brain behind With Love Wit. In her blog she illustrate her view on fashion in a very fun and quirky way. Her blog talks for itself, but now it's time for Whiney to speak.

Q: What did inspire you to start blogging?I always followed many fashion blogs and during my internship I Love Fashion News I discovered that I enjoyed creating different outfits for their section ‘outfit of the day’. I thought why not make my own platform to express my view on fashion. That’s exactly what I did! withlovewhit.com was officially born.

Q: We all know that blogging can be a tough job. What is it that keeps you going?I don’t see blogging as a job, I do it because I love it. And when I don’t feel like blogging I simply don’t do it. Of course there are days when I feel uninspired, I just skip one day of blogging and try to get inspired again. So the thing that keeps me going is that I’m passionate about what I do! I think that’s very important when you’re a blogger.

Q: How would you describe your style?I always find it really hard to describe my style. I pick my outfit according to how I feel that day. So when I feel like wearing high heels I wear high heels, but the other day I can feel like wearing my Converse chucks again. Overall my style is feminine, with an edgy twist. I love wearing pocket blouses and items with leather!

Q: What kind of future do you hope to achieve? Of course I hope to work in the fashion industry one day. I would love to be a stylist for different kind of fashion magazines. But I also would like to have my own webshop, with the most beautiful clothes and accesories. I just want to be creative. Let’s see what the future brings!

Q: Aside from blogging, what are your other passions?Dancing! I dance in a team called ‘What about US’ we practise twice a week and we do competitions. I love to dance with them, it’s so much fun! Check urbansession.nl for more information about the dance studio.

Q: Tell us you favorite quote.“When I first moved to New York, I bought VOGUE instead of dinner. I just felt it fed me more.” – Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City

SHADES OF A STYLE ICON: VANESSA HUDGENS

After putting the spotlight on Rachel Bilson, now it's time for Vanessa Hudgens.

Many of us may know her from High School Musical, but this girl is way more than just an actress. She's the ambassador of the boho chic style. As weird as this might sound, this girl is known for rocking her boho
style – it’s like her trademark. I’m not a fan of this particular style, but I can’t deny that she almost always looks effortlessly flawless.

My favorite is her hair and makeup though (that’s what we call perfection). Don’t we all wish to look that way? Oh, and lets not forget the sunglasses.

5 WAYS TO LEARN ABOUT COLORS FOR YOUR MAKEUP LOOKS

Tumblr_lwgaemwb571r1grvto1_500_large

Through my journey of blogging, I've researched this topic several times. I then realized that learning about colors is not as easy as I thought it would be. I admit, most of the information were the same, but I still couldn't get the hang on the theory. All I knew about was primary and secondary colors. We never got to third base.

Normally I try to gather all the information and show it through my eyes, but this article that I found is worth sharing just as it is. I found this information on Beautylish, so just click HERE to get directed.

Note to my readers: I'm not the owner of this article, nor do I pretend to be. This is not a publicity of any form. All rights go to the writer.

SHADES OF A T.V. STYLE: JANE BY DESIGN

Jane by Design is a new – and highly underrated – addition to ABC Family Network. It’s a new series that tells the story of young girl (Erica Dasher as Jane Quimby) who gets mistaken for a twenty-something girl. The best part of it is that she lands a job as an executive assistant for a major designer. Her passion for fashion and the need for money is what keeps her motivated to juggle her double identity, despite her jealous co-worker and all the high school drama’s (including the crush) that are making things even more complicated.

Since this series is based on fashion, you can just imagine how awesome all of the outfits (including accessories) are. Actually, the outfits will exceed your expectations. I have to admit, this series has even better outfits than Gossip Girl (please don’t kill me). Maybe it’s just because the fashion is more realistic (shopping at Barney’s, seriously?!).

SHADES OF A NEW TREND: THE 1950'S FASHION

The 1950's fashion emphasized femininity in the form of soft shoulder, pencil-slim skirt, and tight waist, putting eyes on the hourglass-shaped figure. Were in an era where women’s are much more independent than at that time, but this trend is definitely taking its place in our closet this spring.

Designers like Louis Vuitton and Hugo Boss, used soft colors to illustrate the feminine side, while other designers – Giorgio Armani and Calvin Klein – focused on the simplicity of that time period. With all the cover ups (read: long skirts, wide mid-dresses, and sleeves), this trend is still sexy, sophisticated, and celebrate the power of being fierce without losing the women soft touch.

Besides all it gives some kind of nostalgia, especially memories of big style icons, like Audrey Hepburn (my favorite nonetheless).

FIND YOUR OWN FASHION STYLE

Tumblr_lm4ztqu6ui1qd5be0o1_500_large

People often say that you can't argue about taste, and I totally agree with them (although sometimes it's fun to judge their taste). Having a certain taste, becomes a style, and having a style is a helping tool when shopping. People come up with numerous types of styles, and sometimes even combine them together. I'm still looking for mine, and I think you are too. Here are some style description that might help you in the process.

Is your fashion style Classic?
The classic woman favors traditional and clean designs. The classic woman will have a little black dress, a string of pearls and ladylike, borderline preppy garments that express her desire to be elegant, neat and “in control”.
If you have a Type A personality and consider yourself extremely organized, punctual and a conservative dresser, chances are…you’re a Classic woman.

Is your fashion style Chic?
Chic are distant cousins of the classic woman. These women favor love-it or leave-it pieces that are trendy, yet err on the side of expensive. The chic woman favors clothes with clean lines and meticulous tailoring, but turns up the volume on her wardrobe with show-stopping statement jewelry and handbags selected straight from the runway.
For chic and glamorous style, choose luxe accessories with rich patterns like animal prints or florals. These fashion choices will inject a little luxury into all your outfits.
If you consider yourself sophisticated, cool and confident and are more Ralph Lauren Black Label and Chanel than St. John, you might be a woman who prefers chic clothing.

Is your fashion style Whimsical?
Whimsical women approach their wardrobes as an extension of their creative persona. Fun and flirty, romantic and youthful the whimsical woman lives for one-of-a-kind accessories that match her playful and retro style aesthetic.
If you favor the quirky and have a knack for throwing together an unconstructed dress with a slouchy leather hobo you might be a Whimsical woman with plenty of Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Betsey Johnson hanging neatly in your closet.

Is your fashion style Bohemian?
Yes, bohemian women are known for their tie-dyed shirts, flip-flops, slouchy big hats, batik prints and groovy beads.
However, modern bohemian women can mix classic wardrobe staples: jeans, vests, white shirts and cotton tees with hippie-chic touches like ethnic-inspired jewelry, funky jackets and peasant-wear flawlessly. For the boho signature style, look for items that feature patchwork, studs and beaded detailing.
If you can pull together a funky outfit in a flash and have a laid-back approach to fashion, you style profile might be bohemian.

Is your fashion style Avant-garde?
The avant-garde woman is fashion forward and makes no apologies for her risk-taking approach to style. The avant-garde woman is a showstopper and interprets runway looks easier than any other style type.
Bold, fearless and innovative this ultramodern style type favors black, but will always wear a bold and unusual dress or jacket that catches her eye at a moment notice.
If you select clothes that say, “I am fearless; I am an individual,” you style type might be Avant-garde.

Do any of these styles relate to you? Do you have any other style that should be added on the list?

4 TIPS TO MATCH YOUR MAKEUP WITH YOUR OUTFIT

139470919679748365_o3jg6mxk_c_large

Matching your makeup with a specific outfit can be really tricky, because you don't necessarily want it to be the exact same color as your clothes. What you need to do instead is, complement your makeup to your outfit by using base and accent colors. Use colors from the same palette, such as all warm (browns and oranges) or all cool (blues and pinks). You can still use colors from your outfit, but make sure to combine more colors with it.

           1. Choose a simliar shade of makeup, but not identical. If you a have a bring green dress, use a light
green eyeshadow or liner instead. This will help to keep a clean look, without overdoing.

           2. Use an identical color makeup from a tiny color that is included in your outfit. If you a blue shirt
with little pink flowers and tiny red dots, then choose a red shade to give an accent to the ultimate
               look.

           3. Do a smoky eye look - this gives you a base color scheme that you can accent with almost any
brighter color. The smoky eye look works best with grays and blacks or browns. All that you
need to do is blend three different shades of eye shadow, with the lighter shades closest to your
eyebrow and the darker shades closer to your eyelashes.

           4. When choosing lipstick color, just take the nature of you dress in consideration. If you have an
over-the-top outfit, choose a more soft shade or vice versa (light pink etc). Don't use a red shade
if you have an black dress full of sequins. It overshadow the dress, and people won't be able to
see the beauty of the outfit.

Matthijs Fashionshow and a Look on the Collection

Last Sunday was the fashion show of a Dutch designer called, Mattijs. When writing about fashion shows, I usually talk about the collection itself, but this time I want to stress first on the organization. When something is good, you've just got to praise it.

The fashion show was organized by the SoPR team, and I must say that they did an excellent job. Between shows we were delighted with performance of Iris Kroes, winner of 'The Voice of Holland', The whole atmosphere was great, with a final touch of DJ Mayday with her swinging music.

The collection itself was in one word, extraordinary. I'm not an autumn/winter style lover, but this collection came right into my taste zone. The color's were mainly dark and metallic colors (very futuristic), with some pop of really bright shades to mix the scene. There was a lot of patterns and a lot of great design. Here some pictures to give you an impression of the night.

Laser Hair Removal Therapy

Being a women can be a real headache at times. We suffer all kinds of pain, go to all kinds of stress, and even worse - we have to shave everyday (or 2 days for the lucky ones). Fortunately some scientist decided to bring up a solution to remove this stress from us. It's the laser hair removal therapy (as seen on Keeping up with the Kardashians).

I know many people wonder whether they should consider this option or not, so I decided to dig some dirt on this matter.

What is laser hair removal?
The laser hair removal therapy is basically a therapy consisting of a series session to permanently remove undesired hair. The laser energy is transform into heat which turn off the skin organ that produces hair (hair follicle), so that it can treat the unwanted hair, but still leaving the surrounding skin protected and unchanged (no discoloration, thank God!).

What is removable?
In theory any area of unwanted hair can be removable, like armipit, face, legt, bikiniline, but it still needs to be evaluated by the doctor. There are some area's, depending on your skin, that may not have a succesful result, that's why a consultation is much needed.

How many treatment is needed?
Most areas require at least 3-8 session, but it all depends on various factor. Not all hairs grows the same, some are more thick that others etc.

What are the risks and side effects?
Some people experience itchiness, redness, and swelling around the treated area, but they rarely last more than 3 days. The most serious side effect possible is change in skin pigment, permanently. Others might be allergic to certain products that are used in the process.

All by all, laser seems to be a relatively safe and practical solution to those not so welcoming hair. It's just a matter of getting the money.

Would you get the laser hair removal therapy?

Best Beauty Looks from SAG Awards

Red carpet events are full of glitz and glamour, and many times we focus a lot on the dresses (for obvious reasons). Even though the dresses are very gorgeous - and sometimes not - we can't forget the hair and makeup. I mean, what is a laptop without internet? The beauty part is the last finishing touch of an outfit; it can complete it or totally the outfit (doesn't matter if it's a Versace or Vera Wang).

Now lets take a look at best beauty looks from the SAG Awards 2012.

Ariel Winter (Modern Family)

Lea Michelle (Glee)

Emma Stone

Dianna Agron

Sarah Hyland

It seems like young hollywood actresses are overshadowing a bit, or is it just my list? Who do you think shone at the SAG Awards?
